600 Million Machines are now Running Windows 10

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is providing its second Windows 10 statistics update this year. Windows 10 has now adopted 600 million monthly active users, running the company’s latest operating system Windows 10. The number of users includes PCs most of these, a few million Laptops, a few million Windows 10 Mobile phones, a few million Xbox One Consoles, HoloLens headsets, and even Surface Hub devices. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella published figures during the Microsoft annual shareholders meeting on November 29, 2017 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Washington.

The Company’s had basically planned to get Windows 10 running on 1 billion devices within about three years of the OS’s launch.  In July last year, the company recognized that it will take longer to hit the 1 billion target. The company’s main plan was 50 million or more phone sales a year, which the beat a retreat from the 1.53 billion (estimated) mobile phone market has made impossible. It’s not the first time Microsoft published the active user numbers of Windows 10. The company always tries to encourage developers to build apps for the Microsoft Store. The company wants developers to either produce software’s using the new Universal Windows Platforms APIs, to package their existing software’s using the older Windows32 APIs using the Desktop Bridge. In both situations, Microsoft wants developers to distribute, sell and update those software’s through the Store.
